Who do you need to release to God?

In Matthew 6:14–15, Jesus connects the forgiveness we receive from God with the forgiveness we extend to others. But forgiving someone does not mean pretending the offense never happened, excusing harmful behavior, immediately restoring trust, or remaining in an unsafe relationship.

In this episode of Rediscovering Faith, we explore what biblical forgiveness really means. Forgiveness is releasing the debt—and the person who owes it—into God’s hands. It allows us to trust God with justice instead of remaining emotionally bound to the person who hurt us.

If you are struggling with resentment, betrayal, anger, damaged trust, or the pain of an apology that never came, this short Christian devotional offers a grace-filled path toward healing. You may still need boundaries, and reconciliation may not yet be possible—but you do not have to remain imprisoned by what someone else did.

Forgiveness does not declare that the wound did not matter. It declares that the wound will no longer control you.
